Week of Jan. 20: Six Weeks Old

Jacob had a great week sleeping "through the night". He didn't need to have a slumber party in the living room, he went 3-4 hours without needing a bottle, and went back to sleep quickly after eating! Though getting up twice isn't as fun as sleeping all night, I greatly prefer it over the alternative. UPDATE! Jacob slept almost six hours Saturday night/Sunday morning!

He also took his first bath in a tub this week. He didn't mind it at all. In fact he slept through most of it the second time. He also took a liking to American Idol. It was on in the background and he quickly locked in on it.

February 1 will be my last day teaching Kindergarten. Jen will be home one more week after that, then the adventure begins! Should be interesting. I have two present for you all this week: pictures AND video. As always, remember to stop the music play when watching the video. Enjoy!

Big Jake!

First order of business: I will always make the effort to post pictures at least once a week. Sometimes it will happen more often, but at the very least I will post all I have each week. Just depends on time constraints.

Jacob had his 1 month check up on the 16th and now weighs in at a very healthy 8 lbs 10 oz! That is three pounds in 2 weeks. Not too shabby for a kid that was born on the small side. He is still doing great and is always almost happy. Were not talking about gas smiles, I promise. This baby loves to smile. As of about a week ago he began holding his head up for a more extended period of time (by week 2 and 3 he was already holding it up for a minute or two). So Little Man is doing very well. Next up, Jacob will receive a real bath in his tub. So be looking for those pictures next!

Nana & Poppa's Visit

We are approaching 1 month with little Jacob and he is growing fast (which is good since he was so small). Jacob will go back to the doctor on the 16th for another check-up and we are anxious to learn how much he weighs now. Dad has fourteen days left until he "retires" as a teacher and takes on the role of a stay-at-home-dad. Mom is doing great as well. She proudly put on her old jeans this week and went out for a haircut (and returned looking 'fab').

MeMe and Paw-Paw left about a week ago and Nana and Pappa arrived last Saturday. The grandparents love the family's newest addition and both were put on a tight security watch for a possible kidnapping. We celebrated Christmas part 2 with my parents as well and had a fun evening doing so. I received several gift cards for Christmas (stick with me here) and had recently played Guitar Hero 3 at Best Buy. I really enjoyed so I decided to waste some of my money on buying it. Well apparently I am not the only one who enjoyed it...you'll understand when you see the pictures. Notice I am not in any of them.
