Playin' in the Buff!

MA has recently experienced a welcome "heat wave". Keep in mind that a heat wave here is anything over 60 degrees. Anything over 90 is a state of emergency, but I digress. So with temps in the upper 60's, it has been pretty warm inside.

"What does this have to do with Jacob?? Get on with it Monkey Man!" many of you may be saying.

Because of the temps, Jacob has finally been able to shed the long sleeve onsies and has been sporting the short sleeves. His legs are free from the confines of pants and now wail about freely!

On Saturday, we went to the outlet mall and Jake was particuarly warm. So when we got home and changed him, he got really excited when he was sporting only his diaper (and bib). So we let him be and it came to pass that Jacob played in the (almost) buff.

"Thanks for the long pointless story Robert."

You're welcome.

"Next time just give us the pics and keep the chit-chat to yourself."

Sigh...

"It's more than pushing buttons mom. It's an art."

"Please back away from the work area or you'll taste the back of my hand."

"You know how to whistle don't you? Just put your fingers in your mouth & blow."

Tickling Jacob's ear or tempting him to be naughty?

Everybody footloose!

"What's that bright red light daddy?"

"I'm naked !!!"

I'm 4 Months Old!

Jacob has officially been around for 1/3 of a year! He had his check up yesterday and did a great job. He squeeled and laughed for the nurse and doctor. He also gave a very odd smile when they took off his diaper, so I had a talk with him about that.

He now weighs 13 lbs 1 1/2 ounces and is 23.75 inches long. He was right along where he should be development wise and ahead, apparently, in a few other areas (being able to stay upright by himself for a few moments for instance). Once again, everything was fine until they brought in the needles. They double teamed him this time, a nurse each poking a leg at the same moment. It took him a few seconds to register what just happened and then he gave they heart breaking crying. He is still a bit puny from it today so we are taking it easy.

Side note, I made the photos smaller so those of you who have trouble opening them should be able to now. Hopefully.

Such a laid back boy.

Yes, he has been working out.

Stretching before roll-over practice.

"Hello!"

Jacob presents "How to Roll Over in 3 Easy Steps"

"First, lift your legs and place hands on a firm surface."

"Next, quickly extend legs out and raise arms above your head."

"Finally, look cute for the camera."

"Hey! I have legs!"

No caption needed...though I suppose typing this makes it a caption.

Staged photo? Maybe, maybe not. Who's to say he didn't crawl down to the basement, climb up the bookcase and retieve Superman and start to play with him by his own choice?? Hmmm???

"Chicks Dig Me"

Here we are at the 16 week mark and Jacob is still as crazy as ever. He continues to do well sleeping through the night, usually hitting at least 6 hours. He still has his nights where he will wake up once, but they are fewer now. His next appoinment is coming up in a week so we can report how big he has gotten.

He still loves to talk up a storm. He is more than happy to carry on a conversation with you. By and far, though, he loves music. Especially music with a good beat. I have some fun video with him jamming out, but haven't had the time to download it. Maybe soon.

We no longer use inches when stating how long Jacob is, but the advanced "Crib System".

Jacob's very cool (and possibly conceited) Easter shirt from Aunt Amy.

"Everyone raise their pacifier for Aunt Amy!"

Look Mom, No Pants!

It has been a big week for Jacob as he was able to visit dad's old college (never to soon to think about early admission) and my old work. He did very well at both despite the long day. Everyone loved seeing him and thought he was the cutest "thing" ever. Several college students took pics with the cell phones. Not sure what that was about. He may end up on myspace.

I was told that me posting pictures like this does not enable people to open and print them so I will be resolving that for everyone soon. I will probably do like my sister and send out an email with a link to an album with all the pictures for that month. That way you can print or order them, your choice. For now, enjoy these :)
