On Hiatus

UPDATE: The video has been posted at Robert's (New) Land. Simply click your cursor on Robert's (New) Land and enjoy!

---------------------------------------------------
The Land of Jacob will be on hiatus for the next several weeks, at least until we are in Texas anyway (possibly until we're settled in the new place).

The original blog I created for all of you upon moving here, Robert's (New) Land, will continue to be updated for the few of you who still take the time to go there. If possible, I will do as I did moving up here and post daily updates. We can all marvel at the gas prices state by state. I also hope to have time to post a video with some of the numerous pictures of our time in New England on my blog.

Now some of you may be wondering "why update the blog you worked so hard to create for all of us that most of us don't visit anymore and not Jacob's?" Two reasons: 1) to teach you all a lesson for not showing my blog more love and 2) because my blog is easier to update than Jacob's because I type with the HTML code on this blog and not on mine. So everyone take a deep breath and relax. Besides, most of you will be seeing Jacob in person soon enough :)

Packing Up

Just a few cute pictures from this weekend that I wanted to share. Jacob was a real sport allowing some of our attention to come off of him and to the task ahead. He even helped out a little.

Father's Day & Six Months Old

These pictures are a bit late of course, but it has been a hectic couple of days.

My first Father's Day was an enjoyable one...even though Jacob had a blowout diaper in his pack-n-play. Jen made blueberry pancakes and sausage for breakfast then I grilled steaks for lupper (we ate abetween lunch and supper). Best of all there was home made chocolate pie. So apparently the point of Father's Day is to fatten me up. I told Jennifer I would be cautious if she told me to check something in the oven.

Jacob bought me a book by John Elderidge and a book on CD "for those late night feedings". Thanks kiddo!

The rest of the day was spent taking it easy. We popped in Cars which Jacob zoned into. Usually if the TV is on he doesn't care too much with a few exceptions. These exceptions include: the close up confessionals on The Office, the opening and closing credits on any show, and for some odd reason he loves that Six Flags guy ("more flags, more fun, Six Flags!"...I am starting to wonder if that could be a racist commercial. Think I will address why on my other blog soon.). Anyway, he loved Cars.

We finally fixed the bathtime problem by buying him an inflatable tub. Of course I realized once we got home that I have no air pump of any kind except for the emergency one that plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car. Let's just say that was a fun experience. He did dig the new tub the first few times but lately he isn't so keen on being in it. We're not sure yet if he is just really tired when he gets in or if the loudness of the water upsets him or if it is something else.

The last two day have been just us boys here at the house as Jenn is down in the Lone Star State for an interview. He has done really well. He gets really excited when Jenn calls and I put it on speaker phone. He had his 6 month checkup yesterday as well which went really well. The doctor as usual went on about how advanced he was in a lot of areas. She asked if he was trying to sit up yet to which I replied, "pshhh ya...for totally like 6 weeks now yo!" She didn't believe me but then sat him up and could only say "wow, that's unusual." What can I say? The kid is awesome. Both his height and head size were normal, but she said his weight was on the light side due to his high activtiy level. Basically, he burns more calories than he takes in. I tried to tell Jacob that his workout regiment was too extreme. She gave me some ideas for sneaking in some more calories though since he isn't big on eating his bottle (he'd much rather play).

For those who want to know, his stats are: Height - 26 inches (23.8 @ 4 months) Weight - 14 lbs 15.5 ounces (13.2 @ 4 months)

And now onto the pics!

Nudity and Basketball!

Well I have finally found the time to work on Jacob's blog today. In fact, I hope to finally update both of my blogs, so to the one wonderful person who still goes there, be sure to check it out later today!

Jacob will turn the big 0-6 on Monday and has an appointment the following day, so we'll have the goods on his weight and all that...see how he compares to his slightly younger cousin.

The kid's personality keeps coming out more and more. He is a lot of fun to watch. Loves to explore what is around him. Gets kind of frustrated when he can't get a toy to do what he wants (whatever that is). Loves to eat, which must mean he has baptist in his blood (or related to Jennifer and I) but also seems to speak in tounges so he is a good mix. :)

We attempted to bathe him in our tub this week which didn't work out too well. He is starting to get too big for his tub and soaks down everything around him pretty well and lunges forward like Superman taking flight. But as of yet, we don't have anything to put in our tub to keep him from sliding around so it was back to the status quo for now. Cute pics anyway as he was quite amazed with the larger tub.

No need to write what has taken place here. I will just let you assume.

Jacob apologizes for what has taken place in the above picture.

Sporting one of Nana's outfits.

Jacob loves to get naked!

Jacob loves to read!

Jacob loves to be read to!

Jacob loves baby food!

Jacob loves his blocks!

Jacob loves his feet!

Jacob loves the Celtics!

And Jacob loves you too!

Not sure where his craziness comes from.

Told you the big tub excited him.

Back to his tub with an added bonus.

And here is one of the reasons his tub isn't a great option...lunging.

This is not a setup pic. Jacob loves banging around on the laptop.

Jacob got mail from Aunt Amy!

Aunt Amy's letter (for whatever reason) has become one of Jacob's staple toys. Seriously, it is in his toy box.

May in Review

I thought I'd do something a little different for this week's posting. I know I haven't uploaded video in a long while so I put together some clips from this past month. Enjoy!
