Week of 02/17/08: Nine Weeks Old

Not too much to report on this week. Today we went back to the church we visited last week and left Jacob in the nursery for the first time. I think it was harder on me than on Jennifer. Possibly because I am with him all day now. He did great though. Everyone joked when we came back in that he was the worst kid there and the loudest. Apparently he sat with the lady in the rocking chair the whole time and just soaked in everything in around him (and his diaper). He was the only baby in there, but they had some very unhappy toddlers. Jacob thankful did not follow suit and bellow the entire time. We were paged half way through the sermon, but they hit the wrong number. Hopefully Jacob won't create games about being left in an orphanage by his parents one day (inside joke).

He is still sleeping great through the night. He did close to 8 hours three days in a row and 5-6 every other night. Nothing to complain about there. Of course I am slipping him Benadryl in his bedtime bottle, but that is niether here nor there. Enjoy the pictures!

Jacob Conner Nash: Beginnings

I finally had the opportunity to try out my new video editing software and really liked it. I will spare you from hearing more about it and instead share with you Jacob's newest video. It is a collection of all the footage we have taken so far. Enjoy!

Week of February 10, 2008 (2 months old): Part 1 & 2

2/18/08 UPDATE: I have added a few more photos for Week 8. They should be at the beginning of the slideshow.

Originally Posted 2/13/08: Jacob had his two month visit at the doctor's office today and received another great report. He now weighs in at 10 lbs, 6 1/2 oz and is 21.25 inches long! Regarding his length, the nurse practioner said that he was on the smaller size but "what do your expect when both the parents are short." Ouch. I may not be the tallest fella around, but I used to be quick as lightening...before the asthma, bad knee, and back surgery slowed me down. So take that nurse practioner. My mom thinks I'm special.

Anyway, she was impressed with Jacob and his head control. Jacob decided she was nice enough to tell a story to as she looked him over. He might have not been so nice had he known what was coming. Jacob received two shots today (Hib, Pneumococal Conjugate, Hep B, and DTaP vaccines) and needless to say he wasn't thrilled. Poor little guy cried louder than I had ever heard from him. He has been pretty puny since then, but at his 6 o'clock feeding he was smiling and laughing again.

He has been having a lot of fun playing on his Baby Einstein mat. It has a light that hangs over him that flashes colors and plays music when it is moved. This week I took all of his chain links and connected them from one side of the mat to the other so that they hang a little bit above his hands. He can know grab & pull or swing at them and make the music play on his own which he thinks is pretty neat. I always say he is "working in the mines" when he is on his mat. Not sure why. Probably because I sing "Hi-Ho" from Snow White while he plays (the dwarfs worked in the mines).

Week of February 3, 2008: Part 1 & 2

UPDATE: Jacob turned 2 months on Sunday! I added 10 more photos for this week. They should show up at the beginning of the slide show so you won't have to search through them all.

Here are some of the photos taken thus far for Week 7. He has been a little under the weather this week, but still managed to give mom and dad some smiles for the camera. I will add whatever else we take at the end of the week.

Blog Note: I moved the music player to the bottom of the blog and turned off auto play. If you choose to listen to the music, simply scroll down and press the play button. Jacob told me he wanted the site re-designed and the player didn't flow at the top of the page.
