Jacob's New Best Friend

Jacob received a small Winnie the Pooh Bear from the Easter Bunny this past weekend. The Bunny thought he'd enjoy it because the mobile on his swing has a small Pooh Bear on hit that always makes him smile. Is the plush toy a hit? Lets just say that that "tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff" looks like it has spent time with a german shepherd and not a 14 1/2 week old baby (I will spare you those pictures).

Tell me where the honey is bear! Or are you too yellow to fess up?

My doctor could probably have this removed for you.

Hey! There are two of you!!

Take a long, hard look at yourself man. You need to lose some weight.

Jacob's First Easter!

First off, I'd like you all to welcome the newest addition to our family. Meet Cannon II. Though the sting of losing Canon I is still fresh, we felt we had mourned long enough.

Plus we feared what other family members were going to do if they did not have new pictures to look at. I will spare you all the cool camera details (except for our favorite setting that is not quite black & white but not quite color) and instead share with you pictures of Jacob's first Easter.
Obviously the candy from the Easter Bunny is for mommy & daddy.

Jacob's favorite bear.

One dollar to anyone who can guess what movie is on in the background.

Milstone: March 21, 2008

It was a very exciting day here for Jacob! Last night we were watching Smallville before Jacob's bath time. As we undressed him, all at once he stood up and leaped into the air! There, flying above us in nothing but a diaper, was our little Jacob! It is so hard to think that just a few months ago he was so little and helpless!

Now unfortunately our camera is broken. No worries though. I have mad skills with (virtual) crayons, so I drew a picture of the momentous event so that everyone can share in it!

P.S. Jennifer's height is not to size.

Breaking News

BOSTON - It is with great regret that we announce the untimely demise of Cannon I the Digital Camera.

Cannon I passed away peacefully at some point on March 18, 2008. He was five years old. Cannon I is survived by his owners Robert and Jennifer, the object of his affection - Jacob, and four AA batteries.

During his life Cannon took many pictures. His work ranged from small parties to canoe trips through New Hampshire in the fall. He captured the best of both the South and the North. Some have even argued that his work bridged the race gap...but not Barack Obama.

Cannon passed away just as his two latest pieces of work began...The Revolt of Jacob (a comedy documenting the pretend revolution of a baby) and Jacob's First Easter (the story of a child's first celebration of Easter). The Revolt of Jacob will be postponed at this time and Easter has been canceled.

Week of March 9, 2008 (12 Weeks)

This past week marked Jacob's 3rd month of life. He continues to tell great stories, sometimes very loudly! Sleeping is still back and forth. Sometimes he will go for 9 hours and then every now and then he will go just 2 hours.

He is growing stronger by the day too. He loves sitting up and looking all around. Along those lines, he loves to be carried all over the house. He really enjoys stopping in the hallway and looking at all the pictures. His favorite site to see, though, is our light fixture in the dining room. He could stare at it (on or off) for hours and he'll just smile and smile. Maybe we should get one and put it over his crib since the mobile we ordered never shipped for over a month. Since he likes to be carried, we broke out the baby "fanny pack" as I call it (see previous post). He enjoys it because he is facing out and can see everything. I enjoy it because he is happy and I can still get things done around here.

He has begun breaking the chains apart on his exercise mat. At first he could simply break it in half, but now he is taking off individual chains. The fear of a baby revolution is very real. We are taking precautions against such an event. The bedroom door will remained locked at night. Motrin will be put in his bottles with the hope of slowing him down. If a revolt should occur, posts could be limited as we will have to go into hiding...

He is looking at me with those knowing eyes...he is wiggling towards me. He has his pacifier and is about to takaoksfkm kasrlaemkHELPfm lkdfkmUSskdf!!m akld kasdfmTHEksfkasd kfmskREVOLUTIONldfsdfmskfmo weksmdfHASlkasf kweof ojfflksBEGUNmfflsk kekrjr kkeek9 84HEskmfksm wsd irerISdfr4 wkernmd fngTOOierkmr ewkrok398#FASTskremr ekrle, krk lkMUSTsmdf kmsldfkmk sklf mlsmRESISTdfs lmdfjfeij fjwBABY09uf8wij fmcwefr3 0rfwj0 0!ejFoBLUEejf!)(jRe#r gtyu9EYESsdfsdeg LFKDLSFoiio wrj8ruHEAVENidfj98u fmeifjwHELPkskdjfioeoj io rjiwejrfwie rosfksddUSdsmfk l8fiujwenfkj eiroewkrjVIVAkeirkwef 8ikjh8#LAjsjdfkj kawePARENTHOODfejeir8 dr3r34!!!!!!!!!!!

Week of 2/24/08: Ten Weeks

It has been a pretty crazy week, thus the delay in posting anything for the week that was. Jennifer was sent home Thursday sick and then Saturday Jacob woke up with a fever. He had been pretty puny all week, but this is his first fever. He was doing some better this morning (Sunday) but by the afternoon his was feeling crummy again.

However on Thursday, Big Jake rolled over for the first time! He was playing on his mat and started rocking back and forth then FLIP! IT was pretty exciting to see. I figured grabbing the camera would equal him not doing it again, but luckily he did so I can share it with you...whoever "you" may be at this time. A few pictures are below the video.
